Infection Preventionist,

Full-Time at Seattle Children's

Seattle Children's Hospital is seeking an Infection Preventionist to assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of an institution-wide infection surveillance, prevention, and control program. This individual will collect, analyze and provide communication of surveillance data as well as develop, implement, and audit measures intended to reduce Hospital Acquired Infections. The Infection Preventionist will participate in research focusing on prevention of HAIs in pediatric patients, provide consultation to staff, assess educational needs of staff and provide formal and informal inservice education.

Required Education/Experience:

 - Bachelor's degree in nursing and or medical technology with a minimum of one year healthcare experience. If Medical Technologist, must be ASCP certified; if Registered Nurse, must have Washington RN license.

OR

- Bachelor's degree in epidemiology, public health, or related background with three (3) years experience in a healthcare or clinical research setting (MPH or Master's in Epidemiology can be substituted for experience).

Preferred:

 - Master's degree in Public Health or Epidemiology.

 - Infection prevention/hospital epidemiology experience.

 - Data analysis experience.

 - Certification in infection control (CIC).
